If you’ve come to this page, the chances are pretty good that you are thinking about hiring an audio-video contractor to do some work in your home or business. First, let me say “welcome, we’re glad you’re here!” Secondly, we hope you choose us for the work because frankly, we want your business. Finally, I’d like to spend a few minutes addressing some questions you might have (and maybe some that you haven’t thought of yet) as to why to choose us, and how to make that decision.
If you arrived on our site via a major search engine, you’ve probably been to some of the sites of our competitors. I’ve been there too. So, what sets us apart from the competition? Well, first, we are very proud of our selection of manufacturers. The products we sell may not be household names in the consumer world, but they are very well respected in the audio/video world. In fact, and I’ll say this often in the next few paragraphs, don’t take our word for it, check it out yourself. Savvy buyers that are comfortable on the internet can do a search on the products we recommend and find them to be highly regarded by industry reviewers in reputable e-zines (and the few print magazines left.) For example, even in our lower priced theater packages, we offer Paradigm speakers – an extremely well reviewed and multi-award winning speaker company (again, don’t take our word for it…) Our package prices are competitive with other a/v contractors and let me say this here and now, we’re not always the cheapest, but we believe we offer the best value for the money spent. On most sites that you’ve visited, you have probably seen that most of us offer competing packages at various price points. Ultimately, what should drive your choice? I mean, is receiver x really better than receiver y? Most importantly, you have to trust that the company you hire has integrity. In my opinion, this is the single most important factor in making your decision. You may get multiple bids, in fact; we encourage it. But when you bring someone in for a bid, ask questions. And don’t take their word for it either. Do your homework. Are they really a dealer for the companies they claim to be? Call that company and ask! If they have claims of awards or jobs in industry publications, don’t take their word for it; ask to see the publications or award. One of the oldest tricks in the book is to publish magazine photos with the claim of “jobs we’ve done” or “our portfolio”. If it looks like it came from a magazine, it probably did. Ask to go see those jobs. Many of my clients have gladly offered to have prospective clients over to their homes to see our work. Yes, we have some magazine photos on our site, but there are no claims that we did the work.
Eventually, when it’s time for you to decide, we do hope you pick us. But most importantly, whomever you choose, pick someone with honesty and integrity since it’s your money that you are entrusting them with. Anyone can make “claims” but only those with integrity can back those claims up.
