Why We Chose Snell
Snell has several speakers that can be used in applications (like in-ceiling, or in-cabinet) where other speakers would fall apart.
Also, each speaker is hand crafted and ”hand tuned“ to be within .5 db of the original design so every speaker that leaves the factory meets the stringent specs and guidelines of the original design. Snell, with Lucasfilms, created the world’s first THX loudspeaker system as well as the first THX in-wall speaker system. They have created the first THX Ultra2 loudspeakers as well as the first THX Ultra2 in-wall loudspeakers. They also have the distinction of being the speaker system chosen for the 2004 upgrade of the White House ”family theater.“
In 2003, Joe D’Appolito Ph.D. joined Snell as chief engineer. Best known for the D’Appolito Array, Joe has designed commercial loudspeakers for over twenty years, including many designs for some of the industry’s best driver manufacturers. Uniquely he is the author of the world’s only book on loudspeaker testing.
